Relief Society is an audio drama about two Mormon podcasters whose feel-good show about charity collides with the world’s most intractable conflict. Allison and Mele celebrate the global growth of the LDS Church in Africa, and welcome a guest from Abuja, Nigeria. But when a journalist in Tel Aviv delivers news from Gaza, the hosts face a question their podcast was never built to answer.
Written and directed by Jonathan Winn
Featuring Caitlin Duffy, Ria Mae Binaoro, Kkuumba Siegell, and Juri Henley-Cohn.
Today, as we premiere this series, I am presenting the vision behind Winn City Studios at the Yale Innovation Summit. This production, developed through our fellowship at Collective CT and Yale Ventures, is the first of a catalog of audio plays by playwrights everywhere. We invite you to engage respectfully with other listeners as you explore these stories.
Thank you for listening.
